My wife and I are considering purchasing life insurance but we aren’t sure if it is the best investment for the money involved. Advice would be helpful. We do plan on having a family in the next few years and our ages are 30 y/o and 29 y/o.

I live in Los Angeles and have a bachelors degree in finance. However, I do not have any industry experience in business and just recently figured out where my passion lies. The problem now is that I do not know how to best get my foot into the door to become an investment banker. If anyone could please tell me what would be the best jobs to apply for. I would also be willing to relocate.

Example
If an investment increases in valve in 2 years from $100 to $125, the increase of $25 in the 2 years period would represent a cumulative return of 25%. But how would you calculate the annualised rate of return ? What is the formula ?

Im talking about something besides a 401k and a savings account, something that would be a good starter off economic investment that would gradually increase profit over time. I don’t know much about stocks.
For the smart mouth below im already in college, but college doesn’t necessarily mean you”ll be taking care of. Nowadays you need a backup.

Eric S asked:

I would think 1 of these 3 has to be correct.

1) A prisoner cannot collect investment income in jail, but may be able to put the money in the trust of someone else (a family member or friend). Then the other person reports the interest or capital gain income to US Treasury.

2) The prisoner is allowed to file a tax return from in prison, and therefore must do so or be punished the same as another taxpayer.

3) Another person is required to manage the prisoner’s estate.

How does it work?
This certainly applies to white collar prisons.
